GIVE ME SUNSHINE!

Hello Followers!

Hasn't the weather in Southern California been absolutely wonderful? I couldn't imagine any weather greater than how it has been in the past week. I have been spending so much time in the sunshine, I have become inspired by the color yellow! It's sunny, it's bright, and it makes me think about the sunny weather, which I love so much. Yellow is a color most people avoid. It is a tricky color, and finding the perfect shade can be hard! But when yellow is used in just the right amount, I feel it really makes a statement, and can leave you feeling bright and cheery!

Here's some yellow inspiration:

Hope you feel a little brighter, and maybe inspired from all this yellow!

HAPPY {JUNE GLOOM} MONDAY!

This always happens around this time of year in Southern California. The weather starts to feel more and more like summer around May, and just as everyone has started making it a daily habit of being at the beach and developed a great tan (or maybe a burn), suddenly boom, June gloom hits and the beach days are put on pause. This "June Gloom" is almost like a reminder from the weather to me; it reminds me of just how awesome the over cast, dreary days of winter are, and how much I am looking forward to that once Summer is over!
(That was me being very, very sarcastic)

I came across an awesome dinning room today, and I found it incredibly inspiring!  I think it would be so cool to use it in a project one day. Reminds me of a magical, kind of a misty forrest that I often dream of escaping to... And I thought it worked perfect with today's June gloom mood.

Belgian designer Charles Kaisin hosted a dinner during the art brussels fair entitled ‘The Fantasies of Charles’ which included a 10 foot (3 meter) solid oak and beach table. The horizontal surface is supported by several trees down the center of the piece which continue past the top of the work, the branches reaching the ceiling of the space. The trunks take the place of instead of evenly positioned legs in a seemingly random order. While some trees continued upwards, others grow through the surface into candle holders just past the surface of the work, giving the impression that the table top is floating between the foliage.

Maybe this will inspire you for your dinning room decor, or just be some interior design eye candy. Anyways, have a happy June gloom Monday!

IS IT SUMMER YET?

I went down to the beach with a lovely new friend of mine, and seeing just how beautiful it was today gets me excited for summer!

Wouldn't this be a fun color palette for a room?

Stay posted this month, I will be blogging about more summer inspired things!

LOVIN' THIS SITE {ART INTERIORS}

Hello Followers!

Happy first day of June! I couldn't wait for this month to come. I am excited to blog about all the Summery things I will be inspired by! Anyways, I was in the office yesterday, and I was researching some new venders for a project, and I came across this site called Art Interiors. This site features up-and-coming artist's work that you can purchase at a very affordable cost. Their philosophy states that they believe everyone should be able to own an affordable piece of art. And I agree! Art really finishes off a well decorated room. So, I would like to encourage you to take a look at this site's galleries.

Here are some of my favorites:

Linda Oneill : Angel in the Morning

Rundi Phelan : Anything Can Happen

Peter Andrew : Highway Series
A. Pell : Cloud Studies-6
