I recently discovered this New York artist,
Kristin Baker. What first drew me to her work was her unique abstract style; then however, after reading about her work I learnt an inspiration behind some of her paintings is speed. This spoke directly to me, and it was almost as if I understood the paintings and the movement they captured! I am a fan of speed (as I am very fond of my Mustang). But the idea of capturing speed in a way that is so visually stunning, I am an even bigger fan of! Here are some pieces from various collections that I love.

Back a Horse, 2011, Acrylic on PVC, 120x80in, 305x203cm |

Full Dawn Parallax, 2010, Acrylic on acrylic with powder coated aluminum frame, 114x99in, 290x251cm |
 |
Matter Fracture, 2010, Acrylic on PVC, 80x100in, 203x254cm |
This is my favorite from Kristin's 2010 collection, Matter Fracture. I'm obsessed with the colors and the movement!
Could you imagine having one of her paintings as a focal piece in your home? It's visually dazzling!
